Stress Headaches And How To Treat Them
We all have headaches from time to time, but do you know why you have those headaches? If you just get a headache from time to time, once every couple of of weeks or so, it is not much of a problem, but if you fear your next headache, then you almost certainly do have a problem.
Tension headaches are the most prevalent and tension can be related to stress, but there are also purely stress-related headaches. This type of headache can also be driven off by a tablet or two from the medicine cabinet, but it is better to get rid of the cause for the headache. Attack the reason not the symptom. The rest of this piece is about what to do with the different sorts of stress headaches.
Basically, a stress headache occurs once the obstacles that are presented to you engulf your ability to cope with them. Some people get on well with stress others deal with stress less well. Some people even prosper on it and others have taught themselves how to de-stress rapidly.
When a person comes across stressful situations, a little bit of our mental resistance against stress is worn away. This is fine and is normal, but then as other stresses happen there is less and less defence left to carry on. Trying to cope whilst you are starting to feel weaker and weaker will often bring on a stress headache.
Another reason why a stress headache is the most common kind of headache, is because other types of headache can bring on a stress headache as well. The best news is that almost all forms of headaches can be avoided or cured and a stress headache falls into this category.
There are, obviously pharmaceutical medicines to treat headaches and there are natural, home remedies as well but there are also non-medicinal methods of treating a stress headache. These other methods include: cognitive therapy, behavioural therapy and physical therapy.
These ways can be studied from books, night school groups, the local library, the Internet or by arrangement with your clinic or physician. It is well-worth learning how to use these techniques because taking drugs or medications can lead to headaches anyway.
Cognitive Therapy: seeks to ‘redirect’ stress headaches. In this course of action, the patient is taught to recognize what begins the stress symptoms and what the onset of a stress headache feels like. Then they are taught how to modify their response to these conditions.
Behavioural Therapy: is a way of changing your life style to prevent the incidence of a stress headache. For example, numerous people reach for comfort foodstuffs or alcohol once they become stressed, but it may be better for you to do something else, |when you feel a stress headache coming on.
Physical Therapy: tries using bio-feedback responses, so that once a stress headache begins, the sufferer strives using relaxation techniques (maybe yoga) in order to reduce their stress and possibly prevent the stress headache from occurring. Meditation, deep breathing and prayer are some of the other techniques that can be tried.

Homeschooling And The Family
If a survey by the National Center For Education Statistics is to be believed, roughly 1.1 million children took home schooling in 2005 alone. That’s a lot of children. Not so long ago, homeschooling used to be a radical statement – something like a declaration of independence.
It was the right-wing Christians who advocated homeschooling in the ’80s and legalized it in every State. But the typical homeschooler of today is not religiously motivated.
More recent surveys show that parents are really fed up with the public school system where a lot of the learning is superficial and compulsory. They are also concerned about the damaging environment in school, which ranges from drugs and abuse to negative peer pressure.
Because of this, we have a surprising mixture of people who form the homeschooling world of today. They cut across all religious creeds and all regional borders. Their chief goal is providing meaningful and productive learning through a method that strengthens the bond between the various members of the family.
All these families have one main thing in common – a long standing commitment to the sanctity of childhood. The children of these families are given a primary position. Many believe, and, I think, rightly so, that home schooling allows parents to bring up their kids in a more natural and nurturing environment.
Public schools can make a child anxious, subservient and downright mean. Children who get their education at home are protected from these damaging, negative influences until they reach an age where they can withstand them.
Home-schooling draws the whole family into the almost religious job of teaching. Everyone has a role to play. Both the parents together form a bond with the children. Any experience can be turned into an learning experience. Both the parents are aware of exactly what is going into their child’s education.
Parents also have a greater control over the kind of religious and moral values that the child is taught. Even watching a movie together can become an educational experience. Trips to the libraries, zoos, museums and other places become educational as well as recreational.
A home-schooling family is usually dependent on the income of one earning member. That means that often spending has to be curtailed and proper planning of expenditure is a must. This helps to bring the family members together and everybody becomes involved in the process of not spending money.
Merely having a parent at home to look after, to nurture and to care for the children brings with it a lot of love and caring. Even the husband takes part and there is just no room for boredom.
Yes, problems still do crop up, and there will be many misgivings in your mind, but when you know that your kids can always count on you, and your kids know it too, then homeschooling becomes a richly rewarding experience.

Designer Clothing
Forty years ago, when I was growing up, I did not know anyone who knew anything about designer clothing and I am fairly certain that I did not know anyone who wore it. Our family did not have a lot of money, but I do not think that that was the reason why. We were simply not so ‘clothes conscious’ in those days, I think. We just put on what our parents gave us to wear and went out – to school or wherever. Our clothes were always clean and our jumpers or sweaters were usually knitted by my mother, an aunt or a grandmother
Nowadays children are far more conscious about what they wear and so are many adults. They stick with a certain designer, because they like that designer’s style or theme. Many designers’ works are recognizable by their theme or style and this will run through their assortment of clothing, so that if you like one item of their clothing, you will probably like the other items in that range as well.
Some individuals buy designer clothes because the name is famous or because their favourite film star or singer was seen wearing it. This is probably the bad face of designer wear. It makes no sense at all to wear an expensive item of clothing, and let us admit it, all designer wear is more expensive, just because someone else that you have never met likes it.
The truth is that that famous person was given the clothing to wear and might even be being paid to wear it. To wear designer clothes just for this reason is to allow yourself to be made a fool of.
Designer clothing usually has some identifiable name or logo embroidered onto it. This is an important marketing strategy and is central to the success of a designer. Think of the Lacoste ‘crocodile’. That logo is there to advertise that brand. The wearer becomes a walking billboard for that marque.
It also serves to brush up the ego of the wearer, it says: ‘Look, I am as stylish as pop stars, because I have the sense to wear this brand’. It also says that you have money, because as we all know, designer clothing is more expensive than non-designer clothing.
Having said that, most designer clothing is of fairly good quality, so it will last a long while if it is laundered properly, but you will have to pay close attention to the type of washing powder that you use and the temperature and the quality of the water. The water may not be too hard.
Occasionally, you can buy designer clothing a little cheaper than in the shops too. Try looking on eBay or Amazon There is often designer clothing on the Internet at knock-down prices, but beware of forgeries. Both eBay and Amazon have anti forgery policies which they do implement when forgeries are brought to their attention, but by then the trader is usually long gone and these companies will not reimburse you because you have been swindled.
So, inspect the seller’s history before you buy, because sellers of forgeries will be banned, so if your seller has only had an account for a few days, beware.

Dress Sense And Accessories
Are you pleased with the way you look? I do not mean your size, your face, your skin or your hair, I mean your clothes or the style in which you dress? It is just an impracticality for everyone to be able to have good dress sense in the same way that we do not all have green fingers. The problem is that, no one cares whether you are a decent gardener, but your boss might be concerned about your dress sense.
The western business man’s style of dress, the business suit, has become the de facto worldwide accepted standard of dress for all business people – men and women. Thankfully, women have started to slowly modify men’s suits to something more fitting for a woman, although the average women’s business suit is still pretty stern.
However, it is not only women who have been caught up in the deluge of men’s business suits, nations that traditionally wore totally different types of clothing, such as the Asian and African peoples, also feel obliged to abandon their own styles in order to dress in western business men’s suits.
The business suit has become a worldwide form of dress and it is a shame that we have lost so many other styles. However, given the fact that any would-be successful business person ‘has’ to be dressed in a traditional western business suit, there are acceptable ways of making that suit your own. Methods of customizing or personalizing your look.
The way that you can do this is by the use of accessories. Clothing accessories are normally associated with women, but there are also clothing accessories that men can or should use as well.
Typically women’s accessories are jewellery. Especially necklaces and earrings. Men’s archetypal accessories are a tie pin, a belt buckle or a hanky in the top pocket, but there are also accessories that successful people of both sexes can and do use quite frequently – every day, in fact.
The following are ideas for use as accessories to the international business suit for both sexes.
The first object that is an impressive accessory for business people of both sexes is a good quality leather briefcase. You must have a high quality leather, locking briefcase, if you are hoping to make a good impression on your boss, your colleagues or and your clients.
The second item that you will need is a laptop computer or one of the new style notebook size computers like the Blackberry. However, it is obviously not good enough to just own one, it must be connected to the Internet by a permanent mobile connection and you must know how to use it. You may be called on to access some vital information and you do not want to look stupid. If you can not use one, do not carry one.
On the next level, a decent, famous-name watch always makes a good impression. It does not have to be an shamefully expensive like a Patek Philippe or a Rolex. It could be an Omega, a Longines or a Tag Heuer, which are more affordable.
The last accessories to mention are not really accessories at all. The first is one that most people notice and they are shoes. Wear good quality leather shoes at all times and keep them scuff-free and well-polished. The last one is for women: wearing sexy or expensive underwear can also give women a particular edge in self-confidence.
