Why Must We Have To Pick Between Children And Bus Drivers

The time has come for school bus drivers to let go of their personal privacy. This is so the well being of their passengers will be assured. They need to reveal mental and physical health issues to their company. They also have to agree to undergo random drug testing and register the medications they are on. These recommendations were written by Judge Bruce Fraser in the fatal accident investigation report on the death a young person in 2007.

The nine-year-old schoolgirl was killed in a school bus accident on October 18, 2007. The school bus driven by Louise Rogers swerved into a parked gravel truck then slammed into a power pole. This event killed the girl and critically harmed three additional children including her sister. All four are studying at Mountain View Academy but shared a bus with Third Academy at the time.

In his report, John Fraser also wrote that there was no suggestion that the driver did it on purpose. It cannot be explained why the bus driver drifted onto the shoulder where the truck was broken down. Later on it was known that Ms. Rogers had recently been hospitalized for mental health problems. To aid with her condition she was prescribed sleeping pills and antidepressants. However, tests revealed that the level of these drug treatments had been low in her system on that day.

The design of the school bus involved might have also aggravated the accident. Judge Fraser wrote that the bus was designed so that the passenger portion extends past the cab or engine section. This adds to the danger of the passengers because their bodies are exposed outside the motor of the vehicle, consequently escalating the danger. This is a design error that is frequently found in smaller buses which has to be given consideration.

The recommendations presented by the judge received positive responses. Aside from those that were formerly described, he included an additional suggestion. Bus drivers who went on leave due to mental or physical issues must be required to present a report. This has to be issued by a health professional, stating therein whether the person is in shape to resume work.

There are proposals that encourage bus drivers not to use hand-held devices. This includes, but not restricted to, cellphones and musical devices while on duty, especially while driving. News has spread that there is already a draft of a new legislation banning all hand-held devices behind the wheel.

The incident taught a lesson that all schools ought to establish stricter standards in the hiring of school bus drivers. There should be a method for assessing the mental health of potential drivers. It is very vital to establish whether these problems will affect their driving. The safety of children under their charge while on the bus should be protected.

We try to protect our kids. We let them out of our view at school. But we must not let them out of our view on the Internet. Keep them safe by using an Anonymous Proxy to hide where they live.

Dry Eyes And Contact Lenses: Some Facts

When you begin to lose your eyesight, which occurs to most of us at around the age of forty, you have two basic choices: glasses or contact lenses. Both contact lenses and spectacles have their advantages and disadvantages, so whichever you select is certainly a personal decision. However, some people have ‘dry eyes’, which means that the tear ducts do not irrigate the eyes as much as standard.

If someone has dry eyes, then wearing specs will not exacerbate the condition, but if someone with dry eyes decides to wear contact lenses for personal reasons, the condition can make their lives very uncomfortable.

People who wear contacts but have dry eyes will almost certainly experience a discomfort that will lead to the person rubbing their eyes, which will make the situation worse.

There might be medical reasons for the lacrimal ducts not producing enough moisture to lubricate the eyes, but age can be a factor. If you have itchy eyes and are more than sixty, it might be in your interests to change from contacts to spectacles.

Some people find it a very hard decision to take. TV personalities and film stars seldom like to be photographed wearing specs. All right, there are not too many of them, but there are hundreds of millions of individuals who look up to their screen idols and copy them blindly.

One of the causes of dry eyes, besides age or personal illness, is environmental conditions. Pollution affects different people in different ways, but tobacco smoke affects most peoples’ eyes, to say nothing of their lungs.

Evaporation is another cause of dry eyes. This sounds strange, because you would imagine that the water trapped between the eyes and the lenses could not evaporate, but a lot of contact lenses are composed of fifty percent water to make them more supple and therefore more comfortable.

A warm environment will evaporate water from the lenses and the lenses will endeavor to replenish themselves by sucking water off your eyes – a kind of osmosis. This is a good reason for soaking your contact lenses in a solution during the night. The solution is there to sterilize the lenses, but it will also allow the lenses to ‘hydrate’ again.

Therefore, a possible solution to the difficulty of dry eyes, if evaporation is your difficulty, is to replace your lenses half way through the day. another way of combatting dry eyes if you would like to wear contacts, is to put drops in your eyes each hour.

You can purchase these drops from a chemist in small containers or you can purchase a litre of the solution and refill your droppers yourself. However, a saline solution (salt and water) is just as good as anything and a great deal cheaper.

If none of this works for you then why not just switch to spectacles? The trend is to be more open about oneself and part of this trend is to admit your age, wear your wig openly, if that is what you do and be| seen wearing your specs.

Yearly Conundrum: Mothers Day Gifts

Mother’s Day is an annual tribute to the institution of Motherhood. Though material gifts are often insufficient, it is hoped that everyone pays such tribute throughout the year. On this one day however, we all rush out to buy Mother’s Day Gifts – and often, it’s always the same.

Flowers and chocolates are nice, it’s true. And who would deny that a nice dinner out of the house is something that most hard working parents would enjoy? You can buy her jewelry or a book that she has been meaning to read, but in the end these are usually all just things that you didn’t put a lot of thought into.

Sure, you can walk into any department store or smaller retail establishment and know immediately what kinds of things are considered good presents for moms. They have them all set out there, shiny and enticing, waiting for you to pick one up and spend however much it costs. But most people just kind of grab something that looks like it would be appropriate without really stopping to think about the individual woman for who they are buying this present.

Men and boys are particularly clueless about this. They really don’t know how to shop, particularly for women. Often, they think they have the ideal gift in mind, and sometimes they do – but more often, they haven’t the foggiest idea as to what makes the ideal gift for the women in their lives.

Age differences can play a big part of it. Men really don’t always realize just how different women really are, and have difficulty considering what a woman might really enjoy. As a result, they wind up getting the women in their lives things that really don’t make sense, like an air gun or a dirt bike.

By putting time and effort into choosing a gift for Mother’s Day, you are doing much more than a lot of people ordinarily would. You might begin by making a list of the things she likes and things that interest her. Then, make some intelligent guesses about the rest – and when you’re done, you will have good ideas.

Be ready for the possibility that you don’t know a thing about what interests her. If the things she enjoys seem boring to you, or if her hobbies are very technical, you may have trouble narrowing things down. If that’s the case, go to a store where they sell that sort of thing and see if there’s anyone there who seems to be about as into whatever it is as your mom. People just love to talk about their interests, and you might be able to get a hint or at least steered in the right direction.

Put some thought into Mother’s Day gifts this year. Your mom is a regular person just like you, and there are things that she really enjoys. See if you can find something in that vein.

Fear In School

Do you have happy memories of your school years? Do you have happy memories of teachers and school friends? If you do then you were lucky, because some children hate each minute of being in school and not because they are no good at it either. Frequently it is the clever kids who are taunted for being swots and teachers’ pets. They are safe in the class, but the travelling to and from school and the school breaks can become nightmares.

However, it is not only bullying from other children that causes fear in school children. There are other reasons for fear in school as well. Occasionally, children think that a certain teacher does not like them and sometimes children are just frightened of failing or doing badly. Occasionally teachers are frightened of doing badly as well. It can all lead to an atmosphere of fear at school. It makes you ask yourself how anyone could have enjoyed their school days, does it not?

This atmosphere of fear can get greater in state schools because the teachers are subject to success charts and the kids are more subject to bullying. Furthermore, all of the school shootings in the world have taken place in state run schools.

However, the most subtle form of fear in school comes from teachers who are scared of missing the targets set by the state, because that will cost them their jobs. This fear is passed on to their pupils. The regime of fear is exacerbated by over-sized groups. Why?

Because teachers can hold the attention of only so many pupils – as we all can in normal discourse. Therefore, if the class is too big, the teacher will have to switch roles from being a teacher to a controller. When this occurs, education suffers for the sake of restoring order.

For all of these reasons and more, many parents are turning to home schooling. Some of the reasons why parents are deciding to educate their children themselves are: distrust of the state education system; fear of bullying or worse of their children; a desire to teach their children in a more conventional or religious manner.

There are learning packages that parent-teachers can buy to give them a course of action on what to teach. There is also a lot of help accessible on the Net. The problem facing any parents who wish to educate their own children is providing an all round education.

People have a natural tendency to specialize in one topic or group of topics like, say, astronomy or the sciences, which is why schools supply many teachers, so that each one can teach his or her favourite subject. However, if you are the only teacher you will have to teach all the subjects yourself.

This is why it is best to have a course or set of guidelines to follow. It is difficult to teach maths if you have no talent for it, so look at your strengths but also your weaknesses before you take the considerable decision to withdraw your children from school and educate them themselves

in Many Countries for Mothers Day

Mother’s Days in many countries are significant gift-giving occasions, & there can be a lot of pressure to come up with the absolute perfect gift. Jewelry is always a safe bet, & there are many options of special mother’s rings and other mother’s jewelry available, which is customized with the birthstone of each child.

The occasions of the present- day U.S. & many other countries date back to an essay penned by Julia Ward Howe in the 1870s, and later when Anna Jarvis promoted setting an official celebration in the early 1900s. The earliest origins of the modern Mothers’ Day, however, may lie in the society of the ancient Greeks. The Greeks held a festival in those days that functioned to honor mother goddesses, and human mothers by extension, every year around the winter to spring equinox. After the Romans took power later on, they continued this tradition.

The Mother’s Day holiday is quite familiar to many people, maybe most people, as a day of celebrating love and appreciation for moms everywhere. More and more commonly this also means honoring the people in our lives that have been like mothers to us as well. Mother’s Day is celebrated at different times from culture to culture for a number of reasons; here is an overview of some of those dates and their history.

In the United Kingdom, the date on which Mother’s Day is well known each year is related to the timing of Lent, whereas Canada and the United States always celebrate the 2nd Sunday of May. The 2nd Sunday of May is, in fact, the choice of 82 different countries on six continents– this is every continent with a native population. Overall, May is by far the most popular month in which to set Mother’s Day, with 104 countries choosing to celebrate sometime during the fifth month.

In other nations such as Bulgaria and Ukraine, Mother’s Day celebrations take place on March 8th to coincide with the observance of International Women’s Day. Still others, including Egypt, observe Mother’s Day on March 21, the vernal equinox where winter turns to spring; this may just be a throwback to the original celebrations so many centuries ago. Similarly, other dates are often chosen to coincide with the local culture’s established celebrations of mothers, much like many other holidays.
