Learn About Using Costume Jewellery

Today many pieces of jewelry exist that are considered completely acceptable. There are certain ways of using costume jewellery to give the appearance of the real thing without spending the extra cash to do so. The prices of these pieces are far less than the designer items that some people prefer.

The key to wearing something of this nature is to find the designs that most closely match those of the designer brands that many people are wearing. When you are successful in finding pieces that look like the real thing, you will not have to answer whether it is real or not. People will assume it is the real thing.

The look and feel of the pieces being made today very closely match the original designs. They are made with quality but made at a lower cost which means they are purchased at a significantly lower price as well. In addition they cost less to repair and replace should something happen to them and also cost less to insure should you decide to do so.

The transition to using this type of jewelry over the original pieces is a practice that goes back some time. Many times the pieces that are worn in public are actually duplicates while the real ones are tucked safely away elsewhere. When someone is known for owning a specific piece, people will assume that they are wearing the original.

In order to find quality pieces you will need to shop at quality jewelry stores. This can be found quite easily online or you can ask around about quality stores for what you are looking for. Many of the finer jewelry shops are now offering this type of jewelry along with the original pieces.

One might think to themselves what is the reason behind this type of item. By answering that question you realize that people do not really have the money that they pretend to have. As a result the duplicates provide them with a bit of confidence that is intended to appear to signify their status and power. Unless a person is a jeweler who has been schooled to recognizes copies, no one will every guess.

Introduction To Silver Fashion Jewellery

Silver has been used for thousands of years to make precious jewelleries and decorative items. It is considered a precious metal, although it is much cheaper than gold or platinum. It is very durable, which makes it a good investment. Silver fashion jewellery is always popular, although the style changes according to trends.

This metal is very soft. It is usually mixed with another metal to create a harder alloy so that the jewelers can shape it more easily. Copper is the most common metal that is used in the compound. Recently, germanium has been used to create a more tarnish resistant alloy. Alloy made with germanium is called argentium.

Bali beads and Karen Hill Tribe beads are traditional beads made from this precious metal. You can purchase these beads from your local suppliers or directly from Bali and Thailand. These beads are often combined with natural stone beads to create ethnic style jewelleries.

Some jewelleries are plated with gold to give it golden color. Items that are made with this material and have been plated with gold are called vermeil. Rhodium is also widely use as plating to prevent tarnish. Gold and rhodium plated items usually cost more than non-plated items but they are more tarnish resistant.

You need to know how to keep and care precious metal jewelleries so they will shine for a long time. When you are not wearing them, keep them in airtight containers. Wrap each piece carefully to prevent scratches and abrasions. Jewelleries that are worn everyday are more tarnish resistant to those which are kept for a long time.

You can purchase silver fashion jewellery at your local jewellery stores or at online shops. When you are shopping for jewellerie, make sure to check the item carefully, especially the materials. Jewellers often incorporate gemstones into their designs and you need to make sure you get the authentic gemstones.

Silver Jewellery- A Must Have!

The market for precious metals has recently boomed. Gold is now expected to increase in value beyond its original all time high seen in January 1980. Silver had also been announced as being the most underappreciated valuable metal of all time. The value of Silver is expected to see an increase of even more than the one Gold saw. The all time high peak is expected very soon for Silver.

The growth in the price of Silver is expected to mirror the current trend for the metal in the form of jewellery. Silver is set to outperform gold in terms of sales due to its popularity on the catwalk this coming season.

Silver mining is set to continue although around 15 to 20% of silver is compiled from co products such as zinc and lead.

The growing amount of jewellery consumer in India and China in particular are expected to aid the big comeback that Silver is set to make in the fashion world this year.

Old fashioned views on Silver were that it was the ‘poor man’ alternative to other precious metals such as Gold. Views like this are becoming fewer and fewer as people see it as a precious metal in its own rights rather than comparing it with different precious metals.

The biggest end products of Silver are typically jewellery and silverware as well as electronics where the conductive properties are used. The economic recovery has seen Asian recoveries in particular begin to pick up and the silver industry boom.

It has also been suggested that many jewellery firms are planning to design lot of new ranges of Silver jewellery in order to entice people to spend their money. Making more silver jewellery options is also a good way of capturing those who may usually spend on costume jewellery.

Silver is set to be a big trend on the catwalks this season and jewellers are offering lots in the way of choice to buyers which means that the metal is set to be popular in the shops for a good while to come.

silver costume jewellery is a great way to stay on trend this season without breaking the bank! Costume jewellery is always popular, and Pearl and Butler provide a range of quality silver items.

Flight Attendant Guilty Of Passenger Jewellery Theft.

An Air France flight attendant has admitted to stealing thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and cash from sleeping passengers on long haul, business class flights.

Air France has had a reported 142 separate incidents of theft since January this year alone. A forty seven year old flight attendant has been charged after being caught out when a flight she was working on touched down at Charles de Gaulle airport following a flight from Tokyo in Japan.

After months of investigations and discussions the French police were finally able to pinpoint who was responsible for the thefts by carrying out a series of checks on cabin crew working over many different shift patterns. The route to and from Tokyo was said to have been a popular route for the thefts to occur on.

It is believed that the Japanese were targeted due to them carrying large amounts of cash rather than choosing to use credit cards. Police opted to launch a full investigation into the Japanese route after five different passengers complained that they had money and jewellery stolen during one flight, the amount totalled over 3500.

The female flight attendant at the centre of the thefts has now admitted that she began her stealing from passengers in March 2009 and has already admitted to police that she has committed 26 thefts, that she can remember.

Following considerable investigations the police admitted that “Her bank accounts revealed a dizzying gap between her lifestyle and her tax revenues.”

The police authorities have also spoke of how she kept the jewellery she stole in a safe deposit box in a bank in Rouen, where she is believed to have lived. Some of the jewellery included a Cartier wedding ring and a range of diamond rings.

Cheque books, credit cards and travellers cheques were also found in her home. If she is found guilty she will face up to ten years imprisonment for her actions.

Why Costume Jewellery?

Why Costume Jewellery?

There are lots of great reasons why choosing costume jewellery rather than genuine stone and precious metal jewellery is a good idea. This article aims to provide a few examples of why choosing costume jewellery can be the better option.

Some costume jewellery items are completely unique, you can pick pieces up as you travel around the world and keep them as a little, inexpensive memento from your travels. It is unlikely that you will see many items like the pieces you collect from far away destinations such as Thailand and Morocco for example. Costume jewellery can be very unique.

If you are looking for an item of jewellery that follows a certain trend of the moment it is often best to opt for a costume jewellery piece as trends come and go. Spending a large sum of money on something that will be out of fashion within a few months would be a shame.

If you are buying a classic item ie a watch or a pair of diamond studs then it is understandable that you may wish to invest in a genuine item rather than costume jewellery. However, it can be hard to tell apart real diamond earrings from costume jewellery diamond earrings at times. Certain items can look genuine even though they cost a fraction of the price.

One great plus point to choosing costume jewellery is that it is possible to make pieces yourself. Choosing materials such as leather, beads, diamantes and sequins you can create your own individual items. By making your own jewellery you can almost guarantee you will be wearing a unique piece.

Fashion jewellery is also cheaper than authentic jewellery which means it is possible to have more of it. By having a wide range of colours and styles you can update your wardrobe.

It is a good idea to use fashion jewellery and costume jewellery to update your look frequently. Pearl and Butler offer a wide range of high quality costume jewellery.
