Halo 3: Screenshots

When a video game series is as wildly popular as the Halo series, which includes Halo 3, of course, then it’s bound to result in there being many screenshots available. This article concentrates on some of the weird and wonderful Halo 3 screenshots.

Before mentioning the Halo 3 screenshots specifically, let’s take a look at the figures that generate all of this media. Over 9 million copies of Halo 3 have been sold to date. That means that if every person who bought the game plays for only 10 hours, there are more than 90 million hours of game time from which to choose screen shots. A lot can happen in 90 million hours, and with all the image-uploading websites online, a lot of it has been documented.

One of the issues in Halo 3 that has often been documented in Halo 3 screenshots is the identity of Master Chief or more specifically, what his face is like. If you use Google to look up the top 10 Halo 3 screenshots, you’ll find a picture of Master Chief lying dead on the ground, clearly not showing a face inside his helmet. This explains why we never see his face, say many people, because he does not really have one.

Another of the Halo 3 screenshots featuring in the top 10 Halo 3 screenshots is that of a Marine getting hammered on a floodgate. Someone commented that it looks a lot like Han Solo when he was frozen in Carbonite. And guess what? – they’re absolutely right.

The makers of Halo 3 wanted to make it a lot simpler for people to take Halo 3 screenshots and to share them all over the Internet. To accomplish this, they created a ‘Saved Films’ feature in the game. This feature permits people to slow down the action, or even to freeze it, change the camera position and even move the camera around to get exactly the screenshot they want to have. Generally speaking, the ‘Save Films’ feature records all the action that takes place in the game, so it can later be converted into videos are screenshots.

Yet another feature that has a lot to do with Halo 3 screenshots in the ‘Save Films’ feature, is the watching of previously saved films. You see, the saves are not just images or video, they’re real game data. This means two things: A] the file size is very small and B] the entire game can be watched from various viewpoints on the Xbox 360.

Which means to say that a person could replay a game again and again, finding new things in new places every time they watch it. That’s a lot better than plain Halo 3 screenshots.

When Was Halo 3 Released?

On May 15, 2007 the information was out ” the Halo 3 release date would be September 25 in North America and the 26th in Europe. Halo 3 marked the third in a very popular series for the Xbox 360 called Halo. According to the vice president of Microsoft’s interactive entertainment business, Halo 3’s release was more than just a video game release, it was the biggest media event of the year. He may just have been right.

The history of Halo 3 really starts with the release of the first game in the series ‘Halo: Combat Evolved’. In November, 2001, when Halo was first released, game consoles were something of a joke for one person shooter games. Sure, some games existed, but there weren’t the popular communities that the PC games in the genre had.

That all changed with Halo, in which players could fight aliens on foot and in vehicles, in order to complete objectives, while trying to uncover the secret of the Halo. Halo pioneered limiting the amount of weapons a player could carry to two, which in turn, meant forcing the player to make strategic decisions.

People waited for the Halo 3 release with baited breath. They awaited the continuation of the one-person, shoot-em-up combat format that had been dominant in the previous two versions of Halo. Microsoft calls it the ‘Golden Triangle of Halo’, which consists of gun-type weapons, grenades and others. In reality, this was nothing new to one-person, shoot-em-up games, as it had existed since the very first Doom and even the precursor to that game, Wolfenstein.

So, with all of that previous history, people were full of anticipation and excitement about the Halo 3 release date. How popular and welcome was the game? Well, before its release, 3.1 million copies were sold in advance orders and retailers thought that that was insufficient.

The game grossed $300 million in the United States in just the first seven days. Overall, it has sold over nine million copies worldwide and was the best-selling video game in the USA in 2007. Even the critics liked it, putting it the seventh highest on the all-time list of Xbox 360 games.

The Halo 3 release date, like the release date of many widely popular video games was almost like a holiday like Christmas or Easter. It leaves us with the question of what will happen with video games in the future?

Halo 3 Mod

Generally, a Halo 3 mod is considered to be any software modification that changes the game play in the super popular video game for the Xbox 360, Halo 3. But the term also includes several other modifications, such as hardware changes made to the Xbox 360 console to show everybody that you are truly a Halo 3 fan.

However, before someone can create a Halo 3 mod, they must have the proper tools, along with some technical expertise and knowledge. These tools would generally includes a number of pieces of software that allow people to de-construct, edit, and reconstruct Halo 3 files. It would also involve some hardware to allow the Xbox 360 hard drive to be read into a PC and the files to be downloaded to that hard drive.

This is necessary because the Xbox 360 is not a platform on which files can be modified. In the past, the hardware developers, in this case Microsoft, would make the tools available to people who paid the licence fee. But over time, especially with Halo 3 mods, the community has developed several tools and techniques to accomplish what needs to be done for modification.

A Halo 3 mod also includes, as stated earlier, physical alterations to the Xbox 360 console itself. For example, some people might take off the case and actually carve the words ‘Halo 3′ into it. They might also accompany this by painting the console red, blue or green to match the colour of the armour of the characters in the game.

It’s a rather extreme way to say to the world – I love Halo 3 – in that sometimes it could result in actual damage that renders the Xbox 360 unplayable. People often display their altered Xbox 360s on photo-sharing sites such as Flickr and when they go toattend live LAN events.

One of the things that people who are fanatical about the world of the Halo 3 mod try to insist on is that these should not be created for the purpose of cheating. Modifications are fun to get a new aspect on Halo 3 play or a new look for certain levels. But if they’re used to make the game unfair in favour of one person or team, they ruin the overall game experience for everyone.

One website where a person can learn about many a Halo 3 mod is H3mod.com. The site calls itself the ‘future of Halo modding’. It seems to me like a good place to begin if you really want to learn about a certain Halo 3 mod.

Home Movie Theater Screens

When it comes to choosing a projection or TV screen, the first consideration is the kind of screen you want or even may need. If the room where you are going to set up your home movie theater is large, then you will need to have a home theater projection screen or maybe you just want to go down that route anyway.

I, personally, like the idea of having a drop-down screen, but sometimes you have to have one even in a modest home theater. It converts your living room into a home theater: you recline in your chair; click a button and a screen drops down; click a button and the lights dim; click another one and the movie begins!

However, if you prefer a television screen, then you might be considering buying a new one. They say that a 27 inch screen is big enough, but I do not think it is. I think you need 48-60 inches, but then I’m a baby-boomer and my eyes are definitely not what they were.

If you are purchasing a new TV for your home movie theater, I think you should aim high. HDTV is already here and since February 2009 the USA has been committed to High Definition. Therefore, I would make sure that your new television is able to receive it. Then I suggest that your new home movie theater screen is a flat one in order to reduce the annoying glare that could ruin your experience, which could be another reason for opting for a projection screen.

Then you should make sure that the new TV has enough input and output sockets for the equipment you plan to use and you’re ready. Therefore, to summarize, I would go for:

At minimum a 27 inch screen

A flat screen

HDTV enabled

Sufficient input and output sockets

Satellite compatibility

I recommend satellite compatibility because it is probably the future or near future at least. If you get a satellite TV connection you will have access to HDTV downloads which you can watch whenever you like.

What Is Teeth Whitening?

Your teeth are a very important part of your appearance. Teeth whitening facilities realize this fact, which is why they are encouraging people to whiten their teeth so that they can look their best and so that others will find their whole appearance more pleasing.

Whitening your teeth can also boost your self confidence. Did you ever noticed those people who smile a lot even to strangers? Notice how easily they radiate warmth just by giving that Hollywood smile. Sometimes, that smile becomes so contagious that you find yourself smiling and feeling better from that time on.

This is the reason why you ought to perfect that smile, so you can do it much more often. One method of perfecting it, is by whitening your teeth. In today’s world where beauty products and facial makeovers are rampant, you see a lot of beautiful people. However, what you will always remember is the colour of their teeth.

You probably think that they are very lucky to have been born with teeth like that, but what you do not know is that those teeth are the result of the whitening products and procedures that are available today.

Over-the-counter teeth whitening products are not as expensive as they used to be. This may be because of the stiff competition out there. With so many new products appearing almost everyday, it is no wonder that the prices are going down.

Take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Are your teeth as white as they once were? Do you feel that they could be made still whiter? Are you one of those who would benefit from having their teeth whitened?

To answer this question, consider this:

1. Methods for teeth whitening. The methods used for teeth whitening are on a case-to-case basis. For every individual, there is a method that will suit their different requirements. You can opt for veneers instead of bleaching or teeth whitening. The best thing to do is to see your dentist first about what you should do. Your dentist will be able to advise you what will be perfect for your needs.

2. Smokers and Caffeine-Addicts. If you are one of those who like to take caffeinated drinks, then you are probably a candidate for teeth whitening. This is the same for people who smoke a lot. The ingredients in caffeinated drinks can discolour your teeth if you have been drinking caffeine for a long time. Tar and nicotine can also discolour teeth quickly.

By having your teeth whitened or by continuously using whitening toothpaste, you can minimize the effects that these things will bring about on your teeth. Prolonged and regular use will definitely help fight off the quick discoloration of your teeth.

3. Sensitive teeth and gums. Your teeth and gums might not be able to tolerate the chemical contents of whitening products. If you suspect you have sensitive teeth, it is best to delay using whitening products until you have asked your dentist first.

If you have a sensitive mouth, but you are still serious about having your teeth whitened, then you had better try one of the professional treatments. Do not take the chance of buying one of the products that you can buy over the counter.

Once you have mulled over all these things, then you will know if you are ready for that teeth whitening procedure. When it comes to your well being, it is always better to be safe than to be sorry.
